Good evening!
I just wanted to let everyone know about my favorite free event coming up this week. On Tuesday it is National Night Out! This is a nationwide event held by cities and towns all across the country. Read my guide to learn everything you should know before attending an event and how to find one. If you live in Maryland or New Jersey I have also written about our favorite National Night Out events that we have attended in the past and when they are happening this year. This event is great for adults or for families. It is a great chance to connect with members of your community as well as first responders. We have gone to events with things like car shows, free outdoor concerts, free food, free outdoor movies and more!
This is also the last week of the Regal Summer Movie Program. In New Jersey we have attended multiple times and our tickets only cost $2.12 each. This week the movies shown will include Sing 2 and Minions: The Rise of Gru. Be sure to read more about how to get your tickets and our experience with this program.
For people who live within Burlington County in New Jersey you may be excited to know that XGLOsive basketball is returning! Sign up for a free slot before they are all taken. Anyone over the age of 12 can register for this fun event including nighttime basketball, a dj and more! Read about our experience attending XGLOsive tennis in Burlington County.
There are also some events happening that I had mentioned in prior articles. The Barnyard Buddies cheap farm program is happening on August 12th again. Be sure to not miss your chance to try this fun experience! Toddler Time will be on August 20th at 10:30 am at the American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia. There is a parking lot right in front of the museum. Be sure to read about other fun things you can do with your toddler while you are there.
Many people often ask me for ideas for things to do with their kids while they go to places. I have now added a new store to the website: Garden State Globetrotter Website Store. Currently each item in the store is $1 and they are easy to print at home.
So far I have added a worksheet I made to teach your child about parts of a plane. This will be great if you are taking one of the Free Airport Tours in New Jersey on Tuesday mornings this summer. It is a good way to reinforce some of the things they will learn about planes.
My kids also love scavenger hunts. I made a photo scavenger hunt for Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm and the American Swedish Historical Museum. I hope you all have a great August!
